Shiver- Allie Reynolds

🚨 EPIC BOOK ALERT ðŸš¨

This is now my favorite book of the year by far. Allie Reynolds is a mastermind.

Shiver starts as a reunion of a group of pro snowboarding friends. Their reunion takes place in an isolated French resort, nestled on top of the very mountain they trained for the British Open on ten years prior.

After a seemingly friendly icebreaker quickly turns into a morbid game of whodunnit, the group is desperate to cut this reunion short. The only problem is the cable cars have stopped working, their cell phones are missing, and the resort is deserted.

Tensions build quickly in this locked-room mystery as old wounds are slashed open. It seems no one is leaving until the truth about what happened to a member of their group presumed missing all these years is revealed.

Someone here has pulled quite a few

strings to discover what happened to Saskia, the missing member of their group, evidently pronounced dead. But in a group in which everyone’s secrets have their own secrets, who exactly is this puppet master?

Reynolds has scattered breadcrumbs across the pages of Shiver. Just when you think you’ve gathered them all and have discovered what really happened: guess a-freaking-gain.

The complex characters and the endless lists of motives made for the most epic thriller I have ever read. You are immediately drawn into the game and become fully invested in discovering the outcome.

I truly, honestly couldn’t guess the ending of this book! The twists are so wonderfully unpredictable. A wave of nausea hit me as I read the last page. Even when I thought the guessing was done and Saskia’s mystery solved, Reynolds delivered one final, fatal, extraordinary blow. And I loved it.
