Razorblade Tears- S.A. Cosby

An absolute tour de force. Razorblade Tears is a profound novel that fires on all cylinders. 

Two men are dead. A black man and a white man. Two men who were in love and raising a beautiful little girl are buried six feet deep and their fathers want the men responsible to pay. Razorblade Tears is a heart-racing suspense that will have you tearing through the pages, joining two men in their search for retribution. 

Aside from both being ex-convicts, Ike and Buddy Lee have next to nothing in common. What they do share is a deep seeded, irreparable guilt they carry for rejecting their sons for being gay. 

Giving voice to the injustices of our times through raw, heartfelt narrative, Razorblade Tears has a pulse of its own. On their resolute journey for vengeance, Buddy Lee and Ike find themselves facing their own demons. Their toxic masculinity kept them from mending their relationships with their sons and nothing will fill that void but they can still learn.  They can still become better. 

I loved this story. Cosby is a straight shooter and writes unapologetically. The representation of the injustices of the gay,  trans, and African American community is what this world needs and has been in need of for far too long. 5 stars for this astute and penetrating novel.
